Nice Couple

Tonight I got to hang out with Joe and Ryan, who I haven't seen in quite a while. It was great fun - I went out to eat with Joe's parents, and then we went to see Spider-Man 2, which I liked much more than the first one. All in all, a pretty decent day.

Tomorrow, however, it's back to the grind. I have to get to work. The concrete has finally arrived, and I'm going to be really busy reinforcing this wall.

I saw something at the restaurant tonight that really spoke to me. There was this couple that came in and sat down. The guy was this really big fella - sort of dumpy looking, honestly, with a mustache that was definitely not working for him. But the girl that came in with him was absolutely stunning. She wasn't some rail thin model, but she was perfectly proportioned, and she had a really kind face. She had a sort of drawing power to her that I think made people want to look at her. And she was just there with this guy.

I mean, this guy's probably been told a thousand times that he can't be with a girl like that. If he has any friends, I bet they've already told him that he should feel lucky, or to enjoy things while they last, or that this girl is way out of his league - too good for him. Stuff like that.

When I saw her lay her head on his shoulder, something really clicked in me. That was the most right thing I've seen in a long time. It isn't as though I haven't seen these proverbial "mismatched" couples before, but for some odd reason this one stuck out to me. It was an incredibly beautiful sight.

I really hope it doesn't turn out she's a chainsaw murderer or something. Because that would just really mess with my senses.

Ah, and a P.S. - I wasn't going to mention anything about this just yet, but I noticed that Emily let the cat out of the bag today, so I figure it's all right to say something. Yes, what you've all been wondering is true.

I'm pregnant.

That's code for, "I'm designing a new template for Emily's diary."
